Coaching Courses in March 2024
The HSA has organized 3 Coaching Courses for March to prepare you for the 2024 Winter Season. These courses will be run by a FNSW trainer.
The courses are open to all HSA Coaches who are registered in Play Football for 2024 for an HSA Club. Participants are to click on the link which will take them to the new etrainu portal, where you login as a Learner with your Play Football email and password. Note that this will not work unless you are registered as a coach for this season.
The Foundation of Football course will ask for your Working with Children Check number.
The MiniRoos Courses are free and the Foundation of Football is $100. This $100 fee will be fully subsidized by HSA so there will be no cost to the participant. I have requested a discount coupon from FA but have not received it yet. This will be sent to clubs immediately it is received so that you can enrol.
The MiniRoos Certificate is for new coaches for the 5-9 age group and the Foundation of Football replaces the Game Training, Skill Training and Senior Coaching Certificates and is for coaching the older MiniRoos or Junior Competitions.
There are only 24 places in each course but if the demand is strong we will endeavour to organize another course.

The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Referee of the Year Award which has been named The Dave Noble Trophy for Referee of the Year this year after one of the Highlands referees, Dave Noble. His daughter, Amanda Noble presented the award. Amanda was also presented a Life Membership of the Referees Association for her father from Garry George.
Thomas Goodman, a member of the HSA Board, spoke about Dave on the night – “Dave Noble was a player, coach and referee in the Southern Highlands for many years. He was very well respected in all of these roles in his many years living in Hilltop. He coached his son’s team in the Highlands Eagles Club in the early 2000’s with great success in the Illawarra competition.
In refereeing Dave was held in high esteem. He won the Referee Of The Year Trophy 3 times, an award voted on by our local clubs.
Very sadly Dave passed away prematurely from illness last year so it was decided to name the Trophy after him. His daughter Amanda has continued in his refereeing footsteps so she was the right person to present the Trophy to this year’s recipient Andy Bell.”
