MINIROOS GAME LEADERS

Step Up, Lead the Game, Have Fun!

Become a MiniRoos Game Leader (Ages 11–13)

What is a MiniRoos Game Leader?

MiniRoos games are played in the U6–U11 age groups, and MiniRoos Game Leaders are the organisers and on‑field guides for these small‑sided football matches. Their role is different from a traditional referee — the focus is on supporting learning, fun and flow, not enforcing strict laws.

Game Leaders help create a safe, positive and enjoyable environment where young players can grow their understanding of football.

The Role of a Game Leader

A MiniRoos Game Leader:

  • Keeps the game moving so players stay engaged and active
  • Limits stoppages and helps players restart play quickly
  • Supports learning, offering gentle guidance when needed
  • Encourages decision‑making by allowing the game to flow
  • Creates a fun, inclusive environment for all players
  • Ensures safety and positive behaviour on and around the field

Each MiniRoos match is overseen by one Game Leader, whose main purpose is to facilitate player development rather than officiate in a strict manner. This approach helps ensure that every child is having fun, learning the game, and getting maximum involvement.

The Most Important Part of Your Role

The most important role you have as a MiniRoos Game Leader is to…

MAKE SURE THE PLAYERS HAVE FUN AND YOU KEEP THE GAME MOVING!!!
