Referee Training Update February 2025

Referee Training Courses and Updates

Game Leader Course for boys and girls ages 11 to 13 wishing to referee under 6 to under 12 games.

Saturday 1st March at Moss Vale Soccer Club, Clubhouse from 9.30am to 12.00pm

Interested players will need to register beforehand. To register please email dir.referees@hsa.org.au with your FFA number.

 

Course for: New Referees/Club Referees/Team referees

Junior Referees, for boys and girls ages 14 to 18 wishing to become a qualified referee.

Senior Referees, for male and female over the age of 18 who wish to become a qualified referee.

Club Referees, male and female club members who do not necessarily want to become a referee but maybe called upon during the season to referee games and who would like bit more knowledge about the laws of the game.

Team Referees, for male and female team members who will be the standby referee in case a referee is not appointed is unable to get to a game. It is preferable that each team have one of its players willing to take on this role, not to referee your own game but the game immediately before or after your game and who would like bit more knowledge about the laws of the game.

Saturday 1st March at Moss Vale Soccer Club, Clubhouse from 2.00pm to 5.00pm

Existing/Returning Referees

For those referees that are returning this year and still wish to referee senior and junior games

Sunday 2nd  March at Moss Vale Soccer Club, Clubhouse from 9.30am to 2.30pm. The morning session will be an update refresher accreditation course. A BBQ lunch will be provided with the afternoon being a team meeting to discuss changes that have happened what to expect going forward.

All referees need to register beforehand. To register please email dir.referees@hsa.org.au with your FFA number.

Registrations for all, close at 5.00pm Monday the 24th February.

 

Club Communications Coordinator

CLUB COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR/ADMINISTRATION (Part-time)

The Highlands Soccer Association (HSA) organises and operates football competitions across the Southern Highlands communities – comprising of approximately 2,000 registered players across all age groups and encompassing 8 community clubs being Bowral FC, Bundanoon FC, Exeter FC, Hill Top FC, Mittagong FC, Moss Vale FC, Robertson-Burrawang FC and Yerrinbool FC.

Initially this new role will be part-time (20hrs per week) providing administration assistance to the Board of Directors in the daily operations of the Association. The intent is for this role to become an integral team member of the HSA in order to serve our community clubs in the operations of their respective clubs. This will be achieved by way of communications, operations and connecting with all member clubs. This is a hands-on position that requires the following tasks to be undertaken:

  • Daily administration of the HSA emails and redirecting to the appropriate Directors
  • Act as first point of contact for member clubs regarding registration issues, game changes, player grading requests and ground changes
  • Act as first point of contact for the wider football community
  • Act as first point of contact for referees and provide administration assistance to the Director of Referees
  • Draft communications for clubs re HSA activities and initiatives
  • Assist the Secretary in arranging Board meetings
  • Assist the Secretary in arranging Club meetings
  • Assist with drafting notification of marketing activities and initiatives
  • Willing to learn new skills and expand this role

About you:

  • Previous experience in an administration role
  • Previous experience in a marketing and/or communications role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with proven time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work unsupervised to achieve required tasks on time
  • Excellent computer literacy skills e.g. MS Office Suite 
  • Show flexibility to assist in delivering services to our membership 
  • A genuine interest in growing community football across the Southern Highlands
  • Willing to grow with this role to undertake additional operational tasks as required
